As part of its pharmaceutical glass packaging solutions, Wheaton provides an extensive range of glass vials within its Injectables line. These include alkali glass and soda-lime glass for parenteral solutions, offered in the following types:
- Type II Glass Container: Featuring high hydrolytic resistance, achieved through appropriate internal surface treatment of the vial using difluoroethane gas (FC-152a). These containers are designed for storing parenteral solutions (neutral and acidic) that do not alter pH levels.
- Type III Glass Container: Offering moderate hydrolytic resistance, without surface treatment. These containers are primarily used for storing solutions intended for topical and oral use. They may also be used for parenteral solutions, provided they pass stability testing.
